Ft. Lauderdale, FL.- Inter-Miami Futbol has made its way back to Chase Stadium.
Following a hiatus that felt like forever, Inter-Miami CF took the pitch to face off against a red hot Nashville SC, who sits at #2 in the Eastern Conference Standings. Tonight’s battle between two of the MLS’ offensive juggernauts was one for the ages, so let’s talk about it.
Inter-Miami came out of the gates hot, applying pressure on Nashville’s defense early. Despite a few missed connections; Inter-Miami kept the tempo, and finally found a break in the armor. Following a tripping call, the greatest to ever do it, Lionel Messi, lined up for a penalty kick.
With a swift stroke of that golden left leg, Messi delivered a free kick that slid under the entirety of the Nashville defense, en route to a left pocket of the goal score. (1-0 IMCF, 17′).

Throughout the remainder of the half, Inter-Miami and Nashville turned the defense up to 11. Neither squad could get a clean look. It was straight defensive domination.
Following the halftime intermission, Nashville turned on the jets. Hany Mukhtar would go onto equalize things in the 49th minute, bringing our score to 1 all.
As we reached the midway point of the second half, the Messi magic made its way to the pitch. After blocking an errant pass a few yards from the goal, Leo juked out the Nashville goalie and poked an easy shot into the back of the net. (2-1 IMCF, 61′). This brilliant goal marked El Capitan’s 5th consecutive multi goal contest.

Throughout the remainder of the contest, Inter-Miami would fire up the defensive fortitude once again, playing absolutely suffocating defense. Despite Nashville’s best intentions, they could not even get close to a clean look on net. When Inter-Miami did gain possession of the ball, the Herons just chewed the clock playing keep away for the remaining moments of the night.
As the final whistle sounded and fireworks lit the sky, Inter-Miami emerged victorious. The red hot Herons patiently await their next MLS match vs FC Cincinnati, on Wednesday, July 16.
