Miami defense overwhelms Florida in rivalry win

Miami leaned on a dominant defensive performance to take down Florida 27 to 7 at Hard Rock Stadium on Saturday night. The Hurricanes held the Gators to just 141 total yards, their lowest output in 25 years. Linebacker Toure led with 10 tackles and a sack while Rueben Bain Jr. and the front four consistently pressured DJ Lagway, who finished with only 61 passing yards.

On offense the Canes found their rhythm on the ground. Mark Fletcher Jr. rushed for 116 yards and a touchdown while Marty Brown added 80 yards and two scores. Quarterback Carson Beck threw for 160 yards but also had an interception.

Head coach Mario Cristobal praised the defensive effort and the importance of the rivalry win, saying his team showed growth in blocking out distractions and playing for each other.
