At the opening whistle, Miami established control, with quarterback Cam Ward leading the charge. Ward continued to displaye poise and precision, throwing for over 300 yards and three touchdowns for the second week. Ward gives props to his offensive line for his performance. “I felt really comfortable out there,” Ward remarked after the game. “Playing behind that O-line is a dream come true for any college quarterback, especially how prepared they are by coach Maribal and Cristobal. Head coach Mario Cristobal praised Ward’s performance and the team’s overall execution. “He is not one of those ceramic quarterbacks; he just wants to play ball,” Cristobal said in the post-game press conference.

The Hurricanes’ defense also played a crucial role in the victory, with defensive end Tyler Baron making his presence felt throughout the game. Baron recorded Three sacks and multiple tackles for loss for the first time in his college career. He was consistently pressuring the Rattlers’ offense. I’m self-driven; I just want to maximize the most out of this year, ” Baron stated. ” FAMU started strong, with a surprising touchdown in the first quarter that momentarily silenced the home crowd. Quarterback Daniel Richardson fought hard throughout this game to produce for the Rattlers.” He’s a great player, but he’s tough; that guy knows how to play football, extend plays, has great pocket, awareness, and is accurate.” Mario stated on Richardson.

However, Miami quickly bounced back, with Ward connecting with his favorite target, Xavier Restrepo, for a touchdown. Since the day has come in, every single last one of the receiver and tight ends has grown closer to Cam,”. I want to pave the way for the young guys, so when I leave, there’s no drop-off; it’s the same culture. ” As the game progressed, the Hurricanes’ offense found its rhythm, with a balanced attack that featured both the passing and running game. Running back Jordan Lyle got his first touchdown with six carries for 40 yards. Receivers and tight ends also got reps, like Ny Carr and Joshisa Trader, including tight end Elija Lofton. Defensively, many guys got to play and produce—three interceptions from three linebackers: Adarius Hayes, Cam Pruitt, and most improved Wesly Bissainte.

Mario and the team are all business this year. They are now 2-0, coming off a massive defeat in week one against Florida. Mario shows that it’s very early and is still one game at a time. Miami takes on Ball State Cardinals next at the Hard Rock Stadium at 3:30 pm.
