Miami, FL.- This morning (June 1), University of Miami star WR, Xavier Restrepo hosted his second annual Youth Football Camp.

Restrepo, a rising fifth year ‘Cane, has made sure to give back to his community throughout his time at Miami. Xavier and his parents, Ashley Padgett and Jamie Restrepo, hosted the Xavier Restrepo Youth Football Camp for the second consecutive year. This camp featured position specific drills, 1v1’s and skills challenges facilitated by teammates, coaches and mentors throughout Xavier’s upbringing.

Since becoming a Hurricane, Xavier does anything he can to give back to the community that raised him. Restrepo knows the impact that the South Florida community has had on his development, and wants to return the favor for future generations.

When asked about his reflections on today’s camp, Xavier shared:

“I feel like it went great today. We had a much bigger turnout from last year.” Restrepo happily stated. “Seeing all of the families out here today was truly a blessing.”

Throughout the day, Xavier continually rounded the fence line, making sure to meet, greet and thank the parents of the campers. When the camp concluded, Restrepo did his rounds, making sure anyone who wanted a picture or autograph got the opportunity.

Xavier Restrepo continues to use his platform to elevate the community that raised him. When asked about his servant heart and where it stems from, he proudly said:

“I would give back any moment and opportunity I can.” Restrepo stated. “I’ll never forget where I’m from, this community raised me, loyalty is everything to me. Giving back to the kids means the world to me. I’m a firm believer in Christ. Every time He gives me the opportunity to reach the younger generations that look up to me, I’ll never turn it down.”
