The Seattle Seahawks made a significant addition to their offense by selecting tight end Elijah Arroyo from the University of Miami with the 50th overall pick in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Arroyo, a 6-foot-4, 245-pound physical specimen, had a breakout 2024 season, recording 35 receptions for 590 yards and seven touchdowns, earning Second Team All-ACC honors. Elijah’s versatility is second to none in this class. His ability to stretch the field vertically or carve underneath is truly a sight to behold.
Elijah Arroyo’s selection marks the highest draft position for a Seahawks tight end since John Carlson in 2008. Another note worthy stat: Seattle’s acquisition of Elijah Arroyo extends Miami’s streak of Tight Ends in the NFL. Since 1998, every Miami Hurricane TE1 has been Drafted. This list includes:
Bubba Franks (Drafted 14th overall, 2000, Packers)
Jeremy Shockey (Drafted 14th overall, 2002, Giants)
