Coral Gables, FL.- Could the University of Miami boast two consecutive first round picks?
ProFootballNetwork’s Mark Stolte thinks so. In a ‘way too early, three round mock draft’ released on July 12, 2025, Stolte predicts that the New York Giants could very easily select Miami’s 6 foot 6, 315 Right Tackle, Francis Mauigoa with the #1 pick.
“The choice here for the Giants is my top right tackle, Francis Mauigoa. Mauigoa is 6’6″ 315 pounds, and moves really well. While I have {Kaydn} Proctor (Alabama) slightly higher on my board, Mauigoa fits the Giants better as he is a natural right tackle who will go opposite of Andrew Thomas. He allowed just one sack and ranked 51st among 241 offensive tackles in pressures allowed per snap, according to TruMedia.”
Stolte previously states in the piece that he predicts Texas’ gunslinger QB Arch Manning will NOT declare for the Draft following his first full season under center.
Francis Mauigoa has already solidified himself as one of Miami’s all time great trench babies. “Sisi” has been a starter in all 26 career games for the ‘Canes and is the staple of the legendary Mirabal Wall. Don’t be fooled by his soft spoken, laid back demeanor off the field- Francis Mauigoa’s one of college football’s most violent and physically imposing kick-steppers. Despite specializing in run protection, Francis Mauigoa allowed just one sack in 2024, and shut down opposing defenses to 0 QB hurries during the final 2 games of the season (Per PFF College).

If Stolte’s projection holds true- The University of Miami would become just the third program in history to boast two consecutive #1 picks (USC- 1968,69. Oklahoma- 2018,19). Later in the piece, Mark Stolte projects that EDGE Reuben Bain will also be a top 15 pick, going #12 to the Arizona Cardinals.
