BELLE GLADE – For the first time – at least in recent memory – a local football player just coming out of high school is set to give back in a big way.

Belle Glade native and Palm Beach Central 2023 alum Javorian Wimberly will be going on to play college football at Central Michigan. But before he officially moves on to that, the recent high school graduate has a football camp to run.

Wimberly, who finished his senior season as one of New Era Prep’s Top 10 overall players in his class, wants to operate a top-notch event to remember.

The Muckstepper spoke on how his event came about.

“My main purpose is to give back to my hometown that I was raised in,” Wimberly said “Give the kids someone to look up to, to show them that it’s possible to make it out still. Then let them know the importance of having your grades and producing good on the field so these colleges coaches can get you without any hesitation.”

Wimberly will not be doing it alone. He has some familiar assistance in pulling off this feat, such as the following:

•Bijay Boldin (Pahokee/Georgia Southern)

•Brand Campbell (Palm Beach Gardens/Wabash College)

•Chauncey Cobb (Clewiston/Arkansas State)

•Teremun Lott Jr (Inlet Grove/Old Dominion)

•Gurvan Hall (Palm Beach Gardens/Utah State)

Today’s star-studded event will begin at 10 a.m. and end at 1 p.m. at Louis Butts Park in Belle Glade.
