STUART – In the penultimate game of the regular season, Jackson Williams led Martin County to a 41-27 home win over Fort Pierce Central on Friday, Oct. 27.

The 2024 quarterback accounted for two scores in the District 12-4S title with 100+ passing yards and 91 rushing yards for the Tigers (5-3; 2-2 in 12-4S play).

One of the touchdowns occurred when Williams got past the Cobras defense for a 40-yard touchdown run late in the first quarter.

The Williams rushing score contributed to Martin County’s 13-0 lead over Fort Pierce Central (2-7; 1-3 in 12-4S play).

“I trusted and followed my blockers, and I found the hole and scored,” Williams said.

Fort Pierce Central put on a valiant effort, but Martin County held on for the 14-point margin of victory.

“We were fighting till the very end,” Williams said. “Central made plays to stay with us, but we stayed calm and responded every time.”

For his efforts, Williams was voted as our Treasure Coast MVP of Week 10.

“Being voted MVP of the Week is a big achievement,” the 6-foot-2, 195-pound quarterback said. “It means a lot to me accomplishing it in a must-win game. I couldn’t have done it without the guys around me, especially my O-line who is one of best offensive lines in South Florida, and also the playmakers around me including my running backs and recievers.”

Williams will have at least one more game left to play in his high school football career. It will happen in less than 24 hours at home (Thursday, Nov. 2; 7 p.m. kickoff).

“My senior season has gone well, and I’ve had a lot of fun during the season with my team,” Williams said.
