WELLINGTON – Ahmad Haston has clearly separated himself from everyone else in Palm Beach County after four games played this season.
The Palm Beach Central Broncos junior quarterback has thrown for 1,360 yards to go along with 21 passing touchdowns and no interceptions. He has completed close to 70 percent of his passes to date.
Haston’s best game yet was last week on the road at Royal Palm Beach. He had seven touchdown passes in the first half, as he helped lead Palm Beach Central (4-0; 1-0 in District 7-8A play; No. 1 overall team ranking) to a 63-0 halftime lead and 70-0 win.
Haston’s scoring passes were to senior wide receiver and Royal Palm Beach transfer Cody Wasielewski (two touchdowns), junior wide receiver Luby Maurice (three touchdowns), junior wide receiver Javorian Wimberly (one touchdown), and junior Justin Bostic (one touchdown).
For his amazing efforts, Haston shared the MVP of Week 4 honor with Jupiter junior running back Emonte Brown, as both players tallied 34 percent of the vote.
And after four games played, the 6-foot-2, 185-pound quarterback and four-time MVP of the Week nominee has been rated as the state’s No. 1 overall quarterback, according to MaxPreps.
“It feels great,” Haston said. “I’ve been working extremely hard. It feels amazing to start getting recognition as the best in the area and the state. But me and my team have a long way to go.”
