MVP of Week 5: Palm Beach Central 2021 LB Jordan Kolnick

WELLINGTON – Jordan Kolnick feels he’s being overlooked.

This is likely one reason why the Palm Beach Central junior linebacker has been playing lights out lately. His best game to date (arguably) came in Week 5, when he caught two interceptions for touchdowns in a 29-21 road win over Park Vista.

Kolnick had an all-around game at his position. In addition to his two pick-sixes caught, he had 12 tackles and a forced fumble.

For his dominating effect on the game last week, he was voted by our viewers and readers as our MVP of Week 5. It wasn’t close at all, as Kolnick got close to 50 percent of the overall vote.

“I did it for my brothers,” Kolnick said. “I play next to them every day. They push me to be great, and I want to give them my all. They are the reason I give my all every down I’m in the game.”

Kolnick’s first pick-six came early in the game. It happened on Park Vista’s second offensive series, which would be Palm Beach Central’s second defensive series.

The second pick-six Kolnick caught came in the fourth quarter, which effectively sealed the Broncos win over the Cobras.

“He played a great game and gave us a spark when we needed it most,” Palm Beach Central head coach Scott Littles said of Kolnick. “He made two huge plays, scoring two touchdowns on two interceptions and making 12 tackles. The kid is a great player and even better person.”
