WEST PALM BEACH – Antonio Outler is a young man on a mission.

His drive to succeed on the field has been lauded by his teammates at Palm Beach Lakes. His drive to succeed on the field is why he won MVP of Week 9 honors.

In last week’s landmark 53-27 home win over Dwyer, Outler had 223 rushing yards and scored four touchdowns on just eight carries. His efforts helped No. 1 Palm Beach Lakes (7-0, 3-0 in 12-7A) clinch the District 12-7A title in style.

“I’m grateful for the acknowledgement and I promise to keep going,” Outler said. “My o-line grinds everyday. They come out and block anybody in front of them to the dirt. Them boys the truth, and I’m grateful to have them. I wouldn’t trade them boys for anybody in the world.”

Palm Beach Lakes senior offensive lineman Nevell Brown is ecstatic about Outler’s individual success this season at running back.

“That’s one person I can say who lives, breathes, and eats football,” Brown said. “I never seen someone that love the game as much as him. He plays every game, play, and second like it’s his last. Honestly I think every time he touches the ball he can score, no lie. He definitely is a huge part of our Lakes team. He’s a great leader and teammate who is always looking out for someone. He brings the beat out of everyone in games and in practice.”

Now that Palm Beach Lakes has earned the title of being called district champs, Outler plans to finish his junior season on an even higher note. His complete focus right now is on helping the Rams complete the regular season with an undefeated 9-0 record and a deep Class 7A playoff run.

The next two games for Outler and Palm Beach Lakes are tonight (6:30 p.m.) against Martin County to complete District 12-7A play and next Friday (Nov. 1, 6:30 p.m. kickoff) at Palm Beach Gardens to conclude the regular season.
