BOCA RATON, FL – The top team in Florida paid a visit to Palm Beach County tonight to open up district competition against Saint John Paul.

Chaminade got on the board with no opposition as Kyle Washington found the endzone on the opening kickoff taking it from goal line to goal line. Not even two minutes later, Cedrick Bailey found Denairius Gray for what would be the first of many Chaminade passing touchdowns on the night. Soon after, Chaminade’s defense would block a punt on fourth down and recover the ball for a touchdown, giving Chaminade a 21-0 lead in the first 4 minutes of the game. Three minutes later, Cedrick Bailey would get his second passing touchdown of the game finding Kyle Washington to put the Lions up 28-0. Chaminade would get the lead up to the running clock gap with three and a half minutes left in the first quarter as Cedrick Bailey got his third passing touchdown, curtesy of Jeremiah Smith.

Chaminade would run up the scoreboard at every chance they could get. On the defensive side, Darius Smith would pick-off the SJP offense and extend the lead 42-0. By halftime, Chaminade secured a 49-0 lead over the Eagles.

After the half, Chaminade would rest some starters as Cedrick Bailey and Jeremiah Smith would be seen on the sideline for the rest of the game. That didn’t hinder the Lions performance in anyway as everyone played a part in getting to the endzone, including a rushing touchdown from defensive tackle Rashawn Watson.

Chaminade would win the game in a dominant 70-0 fashion. The #1 ranked team in Florida and the #2 ranked team in the nation move on to an undefeated 9-0 record, as they close out the regular season in St. Petersburg next week against Lakewood High School. As for Saint John Paul they fall to 1-8 on the season and will be closing their season in Deerfield against Somerset Academy Key.
