WEST PALM BEACH- Cardinal Newman’s Nae’Shaun Montgomery is poised for an elite junior season.

The 6 foot 3, consensus 4-star wide receiver from Newman was a key weapon during the Crusaders’ undefeated 2022 regular season. During the 2022 season, Montgomery recorded:

•24 catches
•12 touchdowns
•500 yards

When asked about how his sophomore season went, Nae’Shaun said:

“For the team, we had a great undefeated regular season, I believe best in school history,” Montgomery said. “As for myself, I think I did good. My goal in the beginning of the year was to score 10 touchdowns. I achieved that. Overall, I think I did very well, especially for it being my first year playing varsity football.”

After the season, Nae’Shaun Montgomery exploded onto the 7v7 circuit, competing for RAW Miami. While with RAW, Nae’Shaun competed against the nation’s best, and dominated them, during the OT7 Championships. Montgomery was considered a “Top Performer” throughout the tournaments and made numerous big plays.

When asked about playing for RAW Miami, Nae’Shaun said:

“The 7-on-7 with Raw Miami was amazing,” Montgomery said. “I got to travel, compete, and build with the top players in the country. Coach Jose hands down is the best at this 7-on-7 circuit. This was probably one of the best summers I’ve had.”

After his sophomore campaign, Nae’Shaun has received 30 Division I offers, including:

•Georgia
•LSU
•Ohio State
•Florida State
•Miami
•Wisconsin
•Tennessee

Cardinal Newman has some big goals going into the 2023-24 season. The Crusaders are looking to continue their dominance of Palm Beach County, as well as defeating Chaminade Madonna to continue a post season push.

When asked about the team goal, as well as his personal goals, Nae’Shaun said:

“The team goal is to win the states,” Montgomery said. “My individual goal is to be the best leader I can be for our team and also to score 30 touchdowns.”

Nae’Shaun is certainly on track to achieve these goals, as he recently helped lead Newman to defeat Park Vista 41-0 during their Kick-off Classic Matchup. During the Park Vista game, Nae’Shaun recorded:

4 Receptions

55 Yards

1 Receiving Touchdown

1 Pancake Block
