WEST PALM BEACH – We are about 30 days away from the official start of the 2023 high school football season.

Last season, Cardinal Newman quarterback, Luke Warnock (’24), helped lead his team to a historic regular season, as the Crusaders finished with an undefeated 10-0 record for the first time since 1982 – a 40-year gap.

While the Crusaders did not achieve their ultimate goal of winning the program’s first state title – their season ended in the Class 1M-Region 3 final by way of a 49-16 road loss to eventual 1M State Champion, Chaminade-Madonna – Warnock wanted to focus on all the positives that were accomplished.

The 561’s No. 1-ranked QB in the ‘24 class accomplished a lot last year w/ @CNHS_Athletics.

After all, Warnock ended his junior season with the following marks in 12 games played:

•2,300 passing yards
•34 total touchdowns
•63 percent pass completion rate

In addition to that, the 6-foot-1, 190-pound signal caller earned the following honors:

“My junior season was amazing,” the Rivals three-star quarterback said. “It really put me on the map, and it was just a very fun time going out on Fridays and winning with my teammates. Obviously going undefeated in the regular season felt amazing and our team being the first team in like 40 years to do that is wild, and me being able to lead that team as the QB was a great experience.”

As a result of his all-around stellar season last year, Warnock has earned a total of six college scholarship offers. Here is the entire list below – in alphabetical order:

Warnock shared his overall recruiting status as of right now.

“No favorites at this time,” he said. “As of right now, I am unsure. I am still looking for more opportunities.”

What is Warnock looking for in his ultimate college football destination of choice?

“Great atmosphere, somewhere I can see myself living,” he said. “Also a coach that will be there for my whole career and can develop me to become a great player. I want this coach to get me to the next level and also make me become a better man. I basically want a locked-in coaching staff that is willing to develop me and stay with me my 3-4 years there.”

Warnock spoke highly of his current head coach Jack Daniels and offensive coordinator Ryan Partridge.

“Coach Jack has been nothing but there for me through my whole recruiting process,” he said. “He’s calling coaches and really putting me on the map. Same thing with my new OC Ryan Partridge. They both have been reaching out to all their contacts, trying to get me as much offers and opportunities as they can.”

With all that said, Warnock is now focused on the regular season ahead and beyond. He shared both his individual and team goals for his final season at Cardinal Newman.

“Individually I want to throw for 3,000 yards and 40 total touchdowns,” said Warnock, who won a state championship with Cardinal Gibbons as a sophomore in 2021 before transferring to Cardinal Newman during the 2022 offseason.

“I think that is very capable in our new offensive system with Coach Partridge and the skill guys on our team,” he continued. “And of course our team goal is to win states. We have a more than talented enough squad to do so. We just have to work hard in practice and focus on our craft. I don’t think anyone can beat us.”
