MARION, Ind. – No. 2 Keiser opened its season with a 38-31 win at No. 6 Indiana Wesleyan on Saturday, jumping out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter and holding on late.
Running back Jaden Miller stole the show in his Seahawk debut, rushing for 140 yards and tying a program record with four touchdowns. Shea Spencer threw for 265 yards and a score, while freshman Dallas Desouza led receivers with eight catches for 75 yards.

On defense, linebacker Eli Bertrand set a school record with 17 tackles to anchor the Seahawks.

The victory pushed Keiser to 7-1 all-time in season openers and 23-8 against ranked opponents. The Seahawks return home Sept. 13 to face Bethel (Tenn.) at 3 p.m.
