DELRAY BEACH – August 1 was the day that all incoming seniors began receiving their official scholarship offers.

In the case of Earl Miller, a total of four real offers were sent to him yesterday.

The American Heritage (Delray Beach) defensive end and 247Sports three-star has the following colleges on his radar now: FAU, Coastal Carolina, Fordham, and Charleston Southern.

“Those are the schools I will mainly be focusing on,” Miller said. “But I believe I will get some more.”

At this time, our No. 2-ranked defensive end and No. 2 overall player in Palm Beach County has placed his focus on two schools in particular: FAU and Coastal Carolina.

Miller spoke on FAU first.

“I like Coach [Wiillie] Taggart and the new coaching staff,” Miller said. “He is a great coach from Florida. It’s great he is recruiting locals. He wants to get us locals to stay home.”

Miller noted the recent verbal pledges from Stallions teammate and wide receiver Brandon Schabert, as well as Atlantic Eagles cornerback Jahbari Hill.

“FAU’s 2021 recruiting class is looking dangerous,” he said.

Miller also commented on Coastal Carolina.

“They are a great program on the rise as well,” he said.

Miller’s decision to postpone his original commitment date of July 12 makes a lot of sense. Even though the COVID-19 pandemic is placing pressure on the Class of 2021 to end their recruiting processes soon, it is very important for any football recruit to seek the best possible fit for his individual situation.

“I will only be focusing on school that I get official letters from,” he reiterated.

As he starts to narrow down his list of schools in contention for his services, the focus for Miller will be shifted to preparations for the upcoming fall season at American Heritage. He has been conducting body weight workouts from home, in addition to running from time to time.

Miller shared his senior goals for the next few months ahead.

“I want double-digit sacks, 55+ tackles, and 15+ tackles for loss,” he said. “I want our team to make a state appearance and have an undefeated season.”

We will be closely following Miller’s overall progress. Stay tuned for further updates.
