ORLANDO, FL. – Ohio Quarterback Parker Navarro leads a dominant offense on their road to becoming Cure Bowl champions.

Summary

Ohio dominated the game, led by Parker Navarro’s impressive performance, securing a 30-27 victory. Despite Jacksonville State’s strong offensive display, Ohio’s defense managed to hold them off, securing the win.

Quarterly Overview

1st Quarter

The game started with an huge performance by #14 Brandon Spector, setting the tone for a fast quarter. At the 11 minute mark, Ohio’s #4 Jabari Mack made a key play by intercepting the ball, however, after further review, the play was overturned and ruled incomplete. Later, a big catch by #6 Coleman Owen gave Ohio great feild position, while Parker Navarro showcased his raw talent with a 17-yard run that kept the momentum going.

2nd Quarter


Ohio dominated the second quarter, led by Parker Navarro’s impressive offensive display, which secured two touchdowns for the Bobcats. However, a brawl broke out between the teams, resulting in Ohio’s #35 Shay Taylor being ejected for stepping on an opposing player. Despite this, Ohio maintained control, closing the half with a commanding 27-7 lead.

3rd Quarter

In the third quarter, Ohio sported an underwhelming 14-yard punt that gave Jacksonville State the ball with excelent field position. Tyler Huff capitalized on this opportunity with a 7-yard run, scoring a touchdown for the Gamecocks. Jacksonville State’s defense sacked QB Parker Navarro, pushing Ohio back to the 23-yard line. However, Ohio quickly recovered with a pass to Anthony Tyrus III, regaining their offensive momentum.

Ohio’s pushed forward with a forced fumble recovery however their drive is ended short Jacksonville State’s quarterback Tyler Huff’s pass was intercepted by Ohio’s #9 Blake Leake. Ohio continued to advance, with a pass from Navarro to Tyrus that put them within field goal range.

4th Quarter

Ohio began the fourth quarter by furthering their lead through a field goal. Jacksonville State swiftly responded with a 12-yard touchdown run in by Tyler Huff; however, their two-point conversion was shut down by the Ohio Defense. Ohio returned a 14-yard kick, but an illegal block in the back forced them back to the 7-yard line. Parker Navarro then faked a handoff, resulting in a 33-yard gain.

In a swift turn of events, Parker Navarro’s pass was deflected and intercepted by #11 Ky’Won McCray. McCray fumbled the ball, which was promptly recovered by Ohio. The call was later reviewed and ruled down.

Ohio managed to hold off Jackson State during their final push for glory and eventually regained possession of the ball. Ohio was able to finish draining the clock to secure their victory.

Ohio Quarterback Parker Navarro hosted an incredible performance, tying the Cure Bowl record for touchdowns. Navarro led a dominant offense who set the tone early. Navarro threw for 255 yards with a completion rate of 65.5%, with 3 rushing touchdowns and 1 passing touchdown. Navarro has been titled a well deserved Cure Bowl MVP

Jacksonville State Quarterback Tyler Huff also put on quite the show. Huff threw for 349 yards and a completion rate of 62.5%. While Huff put on an impressive performance his offense was unable to overcome the coverage of Ohio’s defense.
