BOCA RATON – Trey Rainey knows exactly where he wants to go for college.
The Boca Raton senior running back made his decision this afternoon (Oct. 6) to go with Lafayette, a FCS school that is in the Patriot League.
Our No. 1-ranked running back for the Class of 2022 chose Lafayette over Penn and Bates.
In case anybody has not noticed by now, Rainey is going to be an asset wherever he goes. After five games played this season at Boca Raton, the 5-foot-10, 183-pound running back has registered a total of 69 carries for 813 yards (871 total yards) and 10 touchdowns.
The best game for Rainey this season was in Week 4 at West Boca Raton, when he gained 261 rushing yards and scored five touchdowns in a 63-0 win.
Meanwhile, the most recent game for Rainey was against Stoneman Douglas in Week 6. He had 19 carries for 134 yards and two touchdowns, while adding two catches for 39 yards to make it 173 total yards in his team’s 40-3 home win.
Our No. 8-ranked overall player in Palm Beach County has been living up to all the honors he has received from the preseason. He is the No. 20-ranked overall player in the ESPN Top 63, as well as the No. 6-ranked overall player and Super 11 pick from the Palm Beach Post.
This is Rainey’s second stint at Boca Raton, as he spent his sophomore season there before transferring to American Heritage (Delray Beach) for his junior season. He returned to his home school this past summer.
