Coral Springs, FL – This afternoon, Kyler Theophile announced his commitment to Kennesaw State. The 6’5 Forward from Coral Glades HS held over a dozen offers and narrowed his Top 4 to Kennesaw State, FIU, UTSA, and Georgia Southern.
When it came time to make his decision, Kennesaw State stood out. “Kennesaw felt like another home to me, so going there wouldn’t be too much of a transition, and the coaches were really excited to have me,” Theophile said.
How will this drive him going into his last season of high school hoops? “It motivates me knowing that I will always have eyes on me and that I will do my best to prep for college,” he said.
Theophile also expressed deep gratitude for the people who have helped shape his basketball journey.
“First off, I would like to thank GOD for putting me in position to play the game of basketball that I love,” Theophile said, emphasizing how his faith has guided him through every stage of his career to this point.
He also shared appreciation for those who supported him along the way. “I also would like to thank everyone who has supported me through my time of playing basketball and every coach that has given me knowledge throughout the years,” he added, recognizing the encouragement that helped him grow on and off the court.
Lastly, Theophile made sure to credit his biggest supporters, his family. “I would like to thank my family for believing in me every step through the process,” he said.

Kyler is the first basketball player in Coral Glades HS history to commit to a division one school, a testament to the culture Coach Stefan Whittingham has brought, as many of their underclassmen currently hold division one offers.
