Boynton Beach, FL.– Welcome to Monday Night Football (FHSAA edition).

Tonight, the Boynton Beach Tigers hosted the Pahokee Blue Devils in a game that would quickly favor the ballers from the Muck. The 1st quarter was quite the defensive bout, with three-and-outs galore, but that quickly changed during the second period. During the frame number two of the night, Pahokee began to turn up the offensive firepower, ignited by the right arm of 8th grade QB Braylon Peterson.

Peterson tossed for 4 touchdowns this evening, finding WR/DB Jacaris Jones (’28) for two scores, alongside Antoine Lawrence and Decorrian Jones for the other scoring duo. The underclassman dual threat passer ended his night with 215 yards in the air, alongside an additional 25 yards rushing. Sophomore tailback Craig Lawrence touted the rock well, knifing through the Tiger front 7 for 65 yards.

Defensively, Pahokee was just doing everything right. The option-centric offense of Boynton High couldn’t get anything going on the ground, as shortly after the snap, there was a Blue Devil party in the back field. Pahokee came away with two interceptions on the night as DL Troy Hill picked off the first pass, and then DB Cyril Boyce took a return 45 yards to the house for a pick-6.

Towards the tail end of the evening, Pahokee put the final needle In the contest as Al’Tavious Salters made another house call on a 60 yard punt return touchdown.

Pahokee bounced back from a close, two game regular season skid with a dominant night over Boynton. The Blue Devils are now riding red hot at 4-2 into their bye week, where they’ll spend the next week and a half preparing for the battle against regional power Vero Beach on October 9.
