GREENACRES- Palm Beach Central (5-0) keeps the streak alive.

Tonight (September 29), PBC traveled to John I. Leonard (0-6) for the first district matchup of the Broncos’ schedule.

After a short weather delay that pushed kickoff back until 6:45 P.M., we were underway.

After a fumble recovery by DB Mikey Gayle (’24), the Broncos struck first, as running back Ze’Quan Wright (’25) found the end zone for a three-yard rush. PBC kept the ground game rolling, as Leon Williams (’24) also found the promised land on a six-yard rush.

This is where the Broncos’ air raid begins. Caleb Butler (’26) was electric from the pocket all night, delivering a dime to Waden Charles (’25) as the Miami commit runs it in for a sixteen yard score. Butler found Charles again, this time for a 45 yard touchdown reception. Waden Charles was dodging and weaving around the Lancer defense, nobody could bring the four-star down.

After a big interception by Marvin Dwyer Jr. (’24), Caleb Butler found Preston Parker Jr. (’25) open on a slant. The speedy wide out flew through the defense, for an easy sixty-five yard touchdown reception.

As the clock is winding down in the half, Butler found Kamare Williams (’25) for a seventy-five yard touchdown. Williams wove his way through traffic, and was assisted with a beautiful lead block by fellow receiver Sean Raymond (’24) to find his way into the end zone as time expired.

At halftime, Palm Beach Central lead John I. Leonard 42-0.

On the first possession of the second half, Ze’Quan Wright found his way into the end zone again, on a thirteen yard rush. Central solidified the win as running back Jayden Couyoute found an open lane for a seventeen yard touchdown rush.

Defensively, the Broncos were lock down. Defensive ends Brandon Littles (’24), and Issac Antoine (’24) combined for multiple sacks, multiple forced fumbles and TFL’s. The Broncos newest linebacker, Matis Gibson, made his defensive debut, recording 5 tackles, 1 sack and 1 pass deflection. Defensive backs Mikey Gayle, Tony Williams (’25) and Marvin Dwyer all recorded multiple tackles and pass breakups.

I guess you could say tonight was a solid win for Palm Beach Central.

Next week, #4 Palm Beach Central will host #2 Benjamin for a highly anticipated top 5 matchup. This game will be played Friday, October 6, with a 6:30 P.M. kickoff.
