Palm Beach County Top 10 rankings: Week 6

PALM BEACH COUNTY – The sixth week of the regular season is officially in the books, which was highlighted by some marquee matchups.

With that said, we have compiled a list of the top 10 teams in the county. The rankings are separated into public school ranks and private/charter school ranks.

Stay tuned as the list will be updated each week based on the teams’ performances, strength of schedule, team record, and coaches’ suggestions.

PUBLIC SCHOOL RANKINGS: TOP 10

1. Atlantic (Delray Beach) (5-0) [Last Week: 1]

The Eagles kept rolling in Week 6. They steamrolled Spanish River in a 55-0 victory to capture their second district win. The Eagles don’t plan on losing anytime soon and look geared to run the table in district play.

Atlantic will be at home for its Week 7 matchup against Santaluces.

2. Dwyer (5-1) [Last Week: 2]

The Panthers didn’t take their foot off the gas as they rolled to their fourth victory in a row. They routed Olympic Heights 62-0 and avenged last year’s upset lost to the Lions.

Dwyer will be on the road against Wellington in Week 7 to try and make it five games in a row with a victory.

3. Palm Beach Central (5-1) [Last Week: 3]

Palm Beach Central took care of business at home against Boca Raton in 42-0 victory to extend its winning streak to five games.

Broncos quarterback Anarjahe Douriet earned Player of the Game praise as he went 11-16 for 222 yards and five touchdowns.

Central will be at home to face Seminole Ridge in Week 7.

4. Forest Hill (5-0) [Last Week: 4]

Forest Hill was on a bye in Week 6.
The Falcons will be on the road to face Jupiter in Week 7.

5. Pahokee (3-2) [Last Week: 5]

The Blue Devils bounced back in Week 6 and beat Boynton Beach ‪47-23 on the road‬ to claim their third victory of the season.

Wideout Jasteven Jordan lifted Pahokee with his three-touchdown breakout performance (two receiving touchdowns and a kick return).

Pahokee will look to score its fourth victory of the season as the Muck team goes on the road to take on Palm Beach Gardens for its Week 7 matchup.

6. Wellington (4-2) [Last Week: 7]

Wellington was able to put together a complete game against favorite Seminole Ridge in a come-from-behind win that ended on a game winning touchdown by Mark Antony Richards and an extra point field goal by kicker Morgan Suarez for its 22-21 thriller victory.

The Wolverines will host Dwyer in Week 7.

7. Seminole Ridge (4-1) [Last Week: 6]

The Hawks had their four-game winning streak come to a halt in a heartbreaking loss to conference rival Wellington on the road.  

The Hawks will have another big test in Week 7, as they go on the road to face Palm Beach Central in a marquee District 9-8A game.

8. Palm Beach Gardens (3-2) [Last Week: 8]

The Gators got back on track in Week 6 as they downed Jupiter 33-20 to claim a District 9-8A win.

Gardens will host Pahokee in Week 7.

9. Santaluces (4-2) [Last Week: 10]

The Chiefs have a great four-game winning streak going right now after defeating Lake Worth 36-6 last week.

Santaluces showed resilency after having to finish its game off ‪Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m.‬ Sophomore running back Jahbari Hill scored two second-half touchodwns to earn Most Valuable Player of the Game.

Santaluces will be on the road to face No. 1 Atlantic in Week 7 to try and pull off their second big upset of the season.

10. Glades Central (2-3) [Last Week: 9]

The Raiders fought hard against Class 4A state powerhouse Cocoa. But they suffered a close 29-22 loss at home.

Honorable Mention: Park Vista

The Cobras (2-3) have put together a complete game and capture a marquee victory for themselves.

Park Vista is probably the most disciplined team in Palm Beach County, but this team has come up short in big games.

After being on a bye in Week 6, Park Vista has a chance to get a good win on the road against Boca Raton in Week 7.

PRIVATE AND CHARTER SCHOOL RANKINGS: TOP 10

1. American Heritage (Delray Beach) (5-0) [Last Week: 1]

The Stallions were on the road to take on Pensacola Catholic in Week 6 and came out on top in a 34-30 victory.

Heritage will have a tall task in facing University School in Week 7.

2. Benjamin (6-0) [Last Week: 2]

Benjamin was on the road to face Pine Crest in Week 6.

The Bucs captured their sixth victory in a row as they took down Pine Crest in 30-0 blowout victory.  

The Bucs will host John Carroll Catholic in Week 7.

3. King’s Academy (6-0) [Last Week: 3]

King’s took down Calvary Christian 49-21 to extend its winning streak to six games in a row. The Lions are looking unbeatable as the season progresses.

King’s Academy will be on the road to face Pine Crest in Week 7.

4. Cardinal Newman (5-1) [Last Week: 4]

Newman beat St. John Paul II in a 42-0 road victory in Week 6. This team will be at home to take on Suncoast in Week 7.

5. Jupiter Christian (6-0) [Last Week: 5]

The Eagles remain undefeated after posting a 12-3 win over Boca Raton Christian.

6. St. Andrews (3-2) [Last Week: 7]

St. Andrews traveled to Somerset Academy-Canyons for their Week 6 matchup and squeaked out a 17-13 victory over the home squad.

7. Glades Day (3-3) [Last Week: 6]

The Gators have looked dominant these last two weeks prior to their matchup against Moore Haven. That changed when they took a 22-21 loss to the Terriers in Week 6.

The Gators will have to pull themselves together quickly as they get ready to take on undefeated Jupiter Christian.

8. Inlet Grove (4-2) [Last Week: 9]

The Hurricanes are rolling as they made it two wins in a row with a 36-0 victory after taking on Florida Christian in Week 6.

Inlet Grove will be on a bye in week 7.

9. Boca Raton Christian (2-3) [Last Week: 8]

Boca Raton Christian lost 12-3 to a very good undefeated Jupiter Christian squad in Week 6. The Blazers will be on a bye in Week 7.

10. Somerset Academy – Canyons (2-4) [Last Week: 10]

Canyons lost a close game to St. Andrews in Week 6. The Cougars have been a up-and-down squad this year, and they’ll look to get back on track in week 7 on the road against a winless Scheck Hillel Community School team.
