PALM BEACH COUNTY – Week 5 ended with an incomplete.

The action – or inaction – that took place in our area will explain how we were able to come up with this week’s Top 10.

With that said, let us waste no time by putting the latest Top 10 out right now.

HONEST IMPRESSIONS: PALM BEACH GARDENS

Let us give a special shout out to Palm Beach Gardens (3-2) for completing the first half of its season.

If one is wondering why we decided not to drop fourth-ranked Palm Beach Gardens despite its 38-30 home loss in Week 5 to second-ranked Pahokee (4-1), let us give you a nice and easy breakdown.

Strength of schedule matters to us – a whole lot.

Palm Beach Gardens has had the toughest overall five-game stretch to start its season. None of its games were easy ones, as each one could have gone either way – save for its 34-0 loss to state powerhouse Vero Beach (5-0; No. 1 in the Treasure Coast) in Week 2.

Name a Top 10 team – or even Close to 10 team – in Palm Beach County that can say the same thing.

We will wait for a response.

Never mind. We will respond for you.

That other team does not exist.

Not even Pahokee, which has had four out of five games that could have gone either way.

To close this segment out, we salute both Palm Beach Gardens and Pahokee for giving us one of the best games so far this year in Palm Beach County. We have a great amount of respect for both teams.

INCOMPLETE GAME: INLET GROVE-SEMINOLE

RIDGE

With seventh-ranked Inlet Grove (2-1) up 25-10

over sixth-ranked Seminole Ridge (4-0) in the third quarter, inclement weather took place and forced both teams to wait it out in their Week 5 game this past Friday night (Sept. 23).

After some time had passed, the game was called – or so we thought.

At this time, no official decision has been made on what will happen next. We will keep you posted on any updates from this game.

As a result, neither team can move up or down in our rankings due to this game not being completed.

FINAL CALL OUT: INCLEMENT WEATHER

Due to a rash of lightning strikes taking place in multiple locations, there were some games that were either delayed, called early, or not played at all.

One game that comes to mind is the Santaluces experience at Royal Palm Beach.

After warmups, inclement weather prevented the kickoff from happening in Royal Palm Beach.

As a result, this game has been moved to Tuesday, Oct. 18.

WEEK 6 ACTION

Due to Hurricane Ian’s impending landfall set to happen on Wednesday (Sept. 28) in our state of Florida, we do not know if any Week 6 games will take place on Thursday (Sept. 29) and Friday (Sept. 30).

We will keep you posted on updates in regards to Ian.
