PALM BEACH COUNTY – Week 6 ended on Monday night (Oct. 3) due to all games being pushed back from Hurricane Ian.

The action that took place in our area will explain how we were able to come up with this week’s Top 10.

With that said, let us waste no time by putting the latest Top 10 out right now.

HONEST IMPRESSIONS: DWYER

It has been a bumpy road so far this season for Dwyer (4-2).

After starting the season at 1-2 with back-to-back losses in double digits to Jensen Beach (24-10 in Week 2) and Palm Beach Gardens (17-6 in Week 3), head coach Al Shipman and crew find themselves in the midst of an impressive three-game winning streak.

How impressive is it?

When any team completes a Muck City sweep, this is honest cause for a celebration of sorts.

Dwyer really had to earn these past two wins over Glades Central (21-18 in Week 5) and Pahokee (14-12 in Week 6). Its best win of the season came against Palm Beach County’s then-No. 2 ranked team on Monday night (Oct. 1).

This is the primary reason why Dwyer makes its Top 10 return to No. 5 this week.

And as a result of Dwyer’s win, Pahokee (4-2) drops a whopping four spots from No. 2 to No. 6.

There are ripple effects throughout the Top 10 when a highly ranked team loses to an unranked team.

We salute Dwyer for its triumphant Top 10 return, which shakes up the entire list a bit this week.

COMPLETE GAME: INLET GROVE-SEMINOLE RIDGE

The Inlet Grove-Seminole Ridge game has been called after all.

Seventh-ranked Inlet Grove (3-1) has officially earned its 25-10 win over then-sixth ranked Seminole Ridge (4-1). It was ruled this past Wednesday (Oct. 28), moments after we released last week’s Top 10.

The game was stopped in the third quarter, when inclement weather took place and forced both teams to wait it out in their Week 5 tilt on Friday, Sept. 23.

As a result of Dwyer storming the Top 10 at No. 5 this week, some team had to drop all the way out.

Guess what?

It is Seminole Ridge.

Why?

It is because despite its Week 6 bye, the most recent game is officially a loss.

We cannot in any way justify any other Top 10 team this week dropping out.

Meanwhile, Inlet Grove will need to wait at least another week to move up potentially in our Top 10 team rankings.

FIRST CALL OUT: THREE TEAMS MOVE UP

As a result of Pahokee’s two-point loss to Dwyer,  Palm Beach Central (4-1) moves up from No. 3 to No. 2 after its 58-20 win over John I. Leonard (3-3) in Week 6.

Meanwhile, Palm Beach Gardens (4-2) moves up from No. 4 to No. 3 due to its 42-0 win over Palm Beach Lakes (0-6) in Week 6.

Finally, Santaluces moves up from No. 5 to No. 4 due to its 30-0 win over Lake Worth (2-3) in Week 6.

SECOND AND FINAL CALL OUT: BOTTOM FOUR TOP 10 TEAMS STAY PUT

Inlet Grove (4-1), Atlantic (Delray Beach) (3-2), King’s Academy (4-1), and St. Andrew’s (4-1) remain in their places at No. 7, No. 8, No. 9, and No. 10.

Inlet Grove, Atlantic, and King’s Academy enjoyed their Week 6 byes, while St. Andrew’s earned a 42-3 road win over American Heritage (Delray Beach) in Week 6 on Saturday, Oct. 1.

WEEK 7 ACTION: SPOTLIGHT ON MUCK CITY

No. 1-ranked Cardinal Newman (6-0) will go for its own Muck City sweep in Week 7 against Glades Central (1-4) on Friday (Oct. 7; 6:30 p.m. kickoff). This game will be played in Belle Glade.

Just eight miles north of Glades Central in Belle Glade will be Palm Beach County’s only ranked vs. ranked game in Week 7 at the same exact date and time.

No. 6 Pahokee will take on No. 8 Atlantic. The loser of this game will have three losses and may be out of the Top 10 altogether next week.

NEXT TOP 10 RANKINGS UPDATE: Tuesday, Oct. 11 or Wednesday, Oct. 12
