With recruitment 100% closed, the question everyone has been asking lately is what is next for Chauncey Bowens.
Speaking to the University of Georgia verbal commit he was ecstatic about committing there. “It’s an RBU and by going there I’m getting developed by the best coaching staff in the country,” Bowens said. “My visit’s there have been extremely simple, they want me. I am extremely grateful to Georgia and Kirby Smart for recruiting me. It has been a really good journey, going on visits there, meeting the coaching staff, my future teammates, and the facility in general.” We all know how bad Smart wanted Bowens. With a visit at the beginning of the year with a trip to the Buccaneers baseball field on a helicopter.

"Coach [Dell] McGee and his production, not just with running backs but with south Florida backs, I saw the vision with that."

But Georgia, isn’t his next step, not yet he still has a whole senior season left. Last year he averaged ~94.3 rushing yards per game, a total of 940 rushing yards, and 2251 rushing yards all time(according to MaxPreps). But this year he wants something a little different, “I would love to have a run at states and win a ring, I think every high school football player does. But if that doesn’t happen, I really just want to enjoy this last year with my teammates and ball out with them.”

“Pahokee.” When asking Bowens about the game that’s what he said short and simple. As we know, Benjamin and Pahokee had a great back-and-forth game against them last year. And this is what Bowens had to say about the team, “I think they are one of the most talented teams in the county”.
The off-season has been going well for Chauncey. “I’ve just been working hard and improving my craft with my teammates. I think last season we could’ve improved on a lot of stuff but we added some pieces to the puzzle this off-season and I think we will have a great year”
This is why Chauncey @chauncey_333 is the top running back in the country, running 10.8 at 215 pounds makes him almost impossible to stop on a football field. @TBSAthletics1 @emilee_smarr @EraPrep @CyWittig @keneraprep @Andrew_Ivins https://t.co/ByBcXFwgWc

#136 in the country (according to ESPN), All-American Bowl (NBC) commit, and #1 in the 561, Bowens had had all eyes on him for a while. “I really must thank my dad and my brother for this opportunity. They’re always pushing on me to be better and better every day.” All these stats and rankings mean a lot to Bowens because it motivates him to work hard, “Just as fast as you can gain accomplishments, you can lose them by not working like nothing ever happened”.
