WEST PALM BEACH – Palm Beach Lakes was able to capture its fourth victory of the season in a 24-7 win over Olympic Heights.

The Rams (4-3) have extended their winning streak to three games in a row with the Week 8 victory. They have taken down Royal Palm Beach, Seminole Ridge, and now Olympic Heights.

Tonight was the Palm Beach Lakes offensive line and Kevon Purnell Show.

Lakes quarterback Jalen Hall connected with Purnell to put the rams up 6-0 with 8:57 to go in the first quarter. Then Purnell would score his second touchdown on a long run, where he broke down the sideline and outran everyone to put the Rams up 12-0 right before the end of the first.

The second quarter was an all-out defensive battle as each team didn’t gain an inch.

Olympic Heights defensive tackle Riley Lawhon recorded two tackles for loss on back-to-back plays in the first half to help keep the Lakes offense in check.

The Lions had multiple miscues and missed opportunities in the first half. But they were able to stay in the game, only being down 12-0 at halftime.

Lakes received the ball in the second half. It didn’t take long before Purnell would score his third touchdown of the night on another long run to make it 18-0 with 10:33 left in the third quarter.

Olympic Heights woke up in the second half as it put together a solid drive that would end on a pass from quarterback Connor Hone to wide receiver Jack Coulson with 7:59 left in the third quarter.

The Lions offense would be on the move again after getting the ball back, as Hone and Coulson connected again on a long pass to put them deep in Rams territory.

You could feel the momentum shift, but the Lions drive would be shut down on a pass deflection at the line by Purnell.

Olympic Heights came up with a turnover, but couldn’t capitalize. The game turned into a back-and-forth battle with the Lions fighting until the bitter end.

Lakes defensive back Vincent Starling came up with a interception that pretty much sealed the game with 3:33 left in the fourth quarter.

Lakes running back Antoine Anderson would put a exclamation mark on the game with a late touchdown run to make it a final score of 24-7.
