On his old stomping grounds, the Denver Broncos cornerback Patrick Surtain successfully held his second annual football camp. Powered through Octane Football, Surtain had a huge turnout of youth participants. “The camp turned out the way I expected it to, the kids and family showed up and the energy was there.” Surtain said when asked for his feedback on the camp. Surtain’s camp, a true community event, consisted of many drills and skills run by notable coaches and players. Held at Surtain’s Alma Mater American Heritage Plantation, over 100 kids fled the field.“This is where I laid my groundwork and having my old teammates come out and support me is a great feeling.
Surtain also had a guest appearance from Miami Dolphins Star WR Jaylen Waddle. Waddle happily signed autographed items followed by smiling captured photos for youth campers and their families.
Patrick, The 2x Pro Bowler mission and message for this camp was “Humility”.
That message was helped pushed by the CEO of Humble over Hype, Chelsea Vaughn.
Chelsea, who works with many athletes all over the country, delivered a strong message to the youth at Patrick’s camp. “Humility is important no matter where you are in life.” Surtain preached humility and character to reach your dreams in life. Surtain’s Camp MVP Immanuel Simmons took note of the message and giving by Chelsea and the NFL star.
“I’ve learned to Give all glory to God and remain humble.” said High school Corner Immanuel after excelling at Surtain’s camp. concluded his camp with the fastest camper and a tug-of-war between the coaches and players, in which the players showed no remorse for the coaches.
Surtain left camp with a heartfelt message in hopes of not only teaching the kids different football skills but also instilling strong faith in God.
