Royal Palm Beach, FL.- I’m just a few hours away from witnessing the New Royal live.
Tomorrow evening, the red-hot Royal Palm Beach Wildcats will host the Dwyer Panthers in a highly anticipated Thursday Night Football rivalry matchup.
Like I said, Royal Palm has started the year off hot, with a dominant 3-0 slate. Dwyer on the other hand began the season 0-3, facing off against some of the top teams in our area.
This game isn’t as black and white as most people who only look at Maxpreps are going to make it out to be, so let’s actually break down the teams and predict tomorrow’s game!
William T. Dwyer
The new era of Dwyer football hasn’t began exactly the way some would’ve hoped. As previously stated, the Panthers began the regular season 0-3, with losses to very talented Boca High, Martin County and Jupiter squads. Dwyer has the personal to hang in with the top teams in the area, as their offense returned star QB Koden Brown alongside WR’s Jemarcus Askew and Antoine Perry.
Brown’s development as a passer has greatly improved leading into his senior year. I extremely like how Koden’s commanded the Panthers’ offense. Everything runs through him. A lot of Brown’s success comes from the big guys up front, as fellow senior OL Vincent Murray and Kam Moore have solidified the trenches, keeping the pocket relatively clean for QB1.
The Dwyer defense was hit hard during the 2024 off-season, graduating DB’s Mikail Lee and Corrado DeSantis alongside LB Nick Thomason. Despite the star losses, the Panthers’ defense is still a solid core, led by Jaden Hutchins and Dante DeSantis.
Royal Palm Beach
Royal Palm has absolutely exploded onto the scene to start the season defeating Port St. Lucie, Suncoast and John I. Leonard in the early part of the year. The Wildcats’ offense has been a force to be reckoned with, as sophomore QB Max Griner has aired out the football.
Royal has the talent across their receiver room to hang with the best in the South Florida, as Nico Botero, Jahari Walker, Demetrious Rolle and James Smith have been breaking out to begin the season. This air raid Wildcat offense allows for diversity in the backfield, as Demetrice Rolle has taken a leap at running back to begin his sophomore campaign.
Analysis
This is going to be a solid game of football that I’m looking forward to. Rivalry games make the blood boil, allowing you to push a little harder each snap. With that being said, I think Royal Palm controls the overwhelming majority of tomorrow’s matchup.
Both teams will throw post-score parties in the endzone, but I think the Wildcats come out on top.
My Prediction: 31-17 RPB.
