DELRAY BEACH – American Heritage (2-4) hosts Somerset Academy Canyons (3-3) in an important District 10-2M matchup tonight (Oct. 14).
Both teams have lost a district game in Week 6. The loser of tonight’s game will be eliminated from FHSAA playoff contention in Class 2M.
American Heritage has been having a rocky season. But this collective is coming off a much-needed bye in Week 7 to regroup for this district matchup in Week 8.
The Stallions offensive attack is led by senior quarterback Joshua Ramos, who can get the job done through the air or by calling his own number. Seniors Aidan Howard and Jaxson Patterson aid in their team’s ground game.
Senior linebacker Roman Navarro leads the Stallions in tackles. Fellow seniors Jared Lampkin and Sasha Petlakh will aid in leading their team’s defensive charge.
A secret weapon for the Stallions is their five-star junior kick Jake Weinberg, who has been money in helping put points on the board. Weinberg has scored 22 points this season for his squad, which includes a 57-yard field against district opponent St. Andrew’s in Week 6.
