DELRAY BEACH – No. 4 seed Atlantic (7-3) has been on fire and shows no signs of slowing down as its hosts No. 5 seed Plantation (7-3) in the Class 3M – Region 3 quarterfinal tonight.

This game will have sparks flying as both teams have matching records and look to make a run towards a state championship.

These two teams last played against each other in 2020. It was for the only 7A Gold Tri-County title, which resulted in a 44-6 win for Atlantic.

With that said, Plantation will have revenge on its mind.

ATLANTIC: DISTRICT 9-3M CHAMPION

The Eagles had a very rocky start to the season, but have a four-game winning streak under their belt now.

Coming into the Class 3M playoffs, they have outscored opponents by a score of 92-7 in their last two matchups against Glades Central (43-0 win in Week 10) and Santaluces (49-7 win in Week 11).

The sophomore duo of Lincoln Graf and Kamare Williams will be something to watch as they can take over games in a blink of an eye when the ball is in the air.

The Eagles defense has been led by senior defensive end Mi’Kel Hendrix, who has racked up 25 sacks this season. He is ranked No. 7 in the state for his sack total.

Plantation has won the District 12-3M title.

PLANTATION: DISTRICT 12-3M CHAMPION

Plantation has been handling business this year.

Prior to last week’s 49-22 loss to Western, Plantation had been on a three-game winning streak.

The Colonels offensive trio of quarterback Amer Ellis, running back Shawn Williams, and wideout Jamari Haynes will be important in tonight’s playoff tilt.
