PALM BEACH GARDENS – No. 5 Dwyer (5-2) has been on a four-game winning streak and will look to continue it against No. 10 Atlantic (4-3; 1-0 in 9-3M).
DWYER
Dwyer has been coming together at the perfect time as it is in prime position to get into the FHSAA playoff conversation.
The Panthers four-game winning streak has come against West Broward, Glades Central, Pahokee, and Forest Hill.
On the offensive side of the ball, junior quarterback Shyeia Deveaux has been coming into own as a top passer for the Class of 2024 in Palm Beach County. He will look to let that shine through tonight (Oct. 20).
Two impact players for the Panthers on offense and defense are Kyle McNeal and Mikail Lee. Both of them can take defenses deep and also lockdown your top receiver if need be.
Senior running back Alex St. Julien is always a threat to go for six. This could be a breakout game for him.
Defensive line play has been a staple for the Panthers this year with Kerrington Lee and Dylan Reiman anchoring the front seven, along with linebacker Kenny McNeal.
ATLANTIC
The Eagles have been consistently inconsistent this season with things being up and down for them. Literally winning a game then losing a game has been the story.
With a young team coming together, this is expected. But they do find a way to win when it matters most.
Sophomore duo Lincoln Graf and wideout Kamaree Williams are a lethal combination for the Eagles. Graf has almost 1,300 yards passing on the season and 15 touchdowns, with six of those going to Williams.
Senior Martay McClendon is another top target for Graf.
Atlantic’s defense is led by senior linebacker Tyrese Herring, who leads the team in tackles. The junior duo of Jayden Parrish and Devon Byrd, along with senior defensive tackle Damauri Thompson, will be players to watch as they are sure tacklers and can shut down running backs.
This young and talented Atlantic squad has been through a lot this season on and off the field. But head coach Jameal Stewart will have them focused as the stakes are higher than they have ever been with a district title and automatic playoff berth on the line.
COUNTERPOINT: DWYER
Dwyer head coach Al Shipman has been preaching and grooming his team for big games like this all season. Tonight they will have another chance to get a marquee win under their belt tonight in front of their home crowd.
Kickoff is set for 6:30pm in Palm Beach Gardens at Dwyer High School.
