JUPITER – We are a few hours away from the regular season finale for both Jupiter Christian (4-3) and Tradition Prep (0-5), as the two teams will face off against each other tonight (Oct. 20).
JUPITER CHRISTIAN
Jupiter Christian is currently on a three-game winning streak, where it took down Somerset Academy Key, Boca Raton Christian, and Somerset Prep.
A huge part of the Eagles offense comes from senior running back Alex Rosario, who has 899 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns. Also, senior offensive lineman Anthony Frigo will be leading the way for Rosario tonight.
Another bright spot for the Eagles is the two-quarterback system they have going with eighth-grader Charles Smith and senior Joel Sacerio, who have combined to throw for 1,381 yards and 21 touchdowns.
The receiving corps for Jupiter Christian will feature junior Nolan Hollinger, who leads the team in receiving with two star seniors Glawinson Resignac and Jeremiah Augustin.
Jupiter Christian’s offense has outscored its opponents, 160-26.
Meanwhile, Jupiter Christian’s defense has been stellar in the past three games, as it has only allowed 26 points total.
The defensive line has recorded 12 sacks on the season with Augustin and senior Nazir Carson stuffing the stat sheet.
It will also be interesting to see what happens when the ball goes in the air, as the Eagles have recorded six interceptions this season.
Freshman Cayden Halula and eighth grader Levi Champion will be some names to remember on defense tonight and in the future.
TRADITION PREP
This is Tradition Prep’s first year as a football program.
The Pirates are in their building phase at this time. As you can imagine, growing pains come with that.
Led by head coach Shawn McGrath, they are currently winless on the season. But things have picked some as the season has progressed.
Last Thursday night (Oct. 13) on the road, Tradition Prep had a close game against St. Edward’s (Vero Beach). Though it was a 34-22 loss, the experience was something to build on.
Freshman quarterback Mason Brown threw for 224 yards and a touchdown that went to junior wideout Brostrie Scayle (six receptions, 155 yards).
Scayle was selected by MaxPreps as its Offensive Player of the Game last week against St. Edward’s.
Sophomore Jahzion Drummond can come out of the backfield or line up at wideout for the Pirates. He is a playmaker to watch in this matchup, along with fellow sophomore Colton Foster.
The Pirates will have three players that will make an impact on defense – Marvin Gay, Josh Volcin, and Jaxon Bryant. They will be leading the way on this side of the ball.
This game will kick off at 6:30 p.m. It will be at Jupiter High School in Jupiter.
