ROYAL PALM BEACH – No. 4 Santaluces (6-0) will look to keep the good times rolling against Royal Palm Beach (1-6).

This will be a makeup game from Sept. 23 that has been rescheduled due to inclement weather.

ROYAL PALM BEACH

Royal Palm Beach has been trying to put the pieces together all year long to gain some momentum.

The Wildcats most recent bout ended in a 45-0 loss to fellow District 9-4M opponent/No. 3 Palm Beach Gardens.

Prior to that, they recorded their first win this season in taking down Lake Worth, 17-14.

The Wildcats offense is led by senior running back Donovan Grier, who carries most of the load and can run guys over or just plain out run past your defense.

The senior was recognized by Hudl as having one of the longest runs in Week 4 against Wellington, when he went for a 83-yard touchdown run.

Senior Kimo Ibanez is Mr. Everything for the Wildcats as he can line up at quarterback, wide receiver and free safety on defense.

Ibanez has been coming in strong these last few weeks on defense and showing his ability to read plays, come down hill and make solid tackles on defenders.

Ibanez is someone that Santaluces will have to respect when Royal Palm Beach is on offense.

The Wildcats defense is led by senior Lowindy Ducamel, who can disrupt the run all day long whether he is at defensive tackle or his end position.

Royal Palm Beach Amare Spann

Senior outside linebacker Amare Spann can force a ball carrier to fumble and he is a tackle for loss machine. Junior Tommy Tipton is a great compliment to the Wildcats defense, playing on the opposite side of Spann in anchoring the front seven.

SANTALUCES

The Chiefs have been on a run since the beginning of the season. They remain as one of only two undefeated teams in Palm Beach County besides No. 1 Cardinal Newman (8-0).

Senior quarterback Will Prichard has been money for his team and lighting up the stat sheet.

Prichard has more than 1,300+ passing yards and over 17 touchdowns. The most impressive part is he has not thrown an interception all season.

Senior Chase Hanning has been coming on strong lately as one of Prichard’s top targets. He has been outrunning the opposition for multiple game-changing touchdown catches.

Running back Curtis Douglas mans the backfield alongside Zakavvion Edgecomb, who has been an emerging player for this season.

Junior Kendrick Burley will be a player to watch for the Chiefs. Burley’s versatility shines through, as he can line up at middle linebacker, outside linebacker or defensive end.

Burley leads the Chiefs in tackles for loss and sacks.

This will be an important game for both teams tonight (Oct. 18), as Royal Palm Beach will be looking to pull off an upset, shock the county, and potentially win out in its last three games of the season.

Santaluces will be tested this game, as many people were a bit shocked to see and/or hear about last week’s game coming down to the wire in a 21-20 victory over Boca Raton.

It is also a short week for the Chiefs, who played this past Thursday (Oct. 13) and now again tonight.

And only two days after tonight’s tilt, Santaluces will be home against Spanish River (1-6) Thursday, Oct. 20; 6:30 p.m. kickoff).

Kickoff for tonight is set for 6:30 p.m. in Royal Palm Beach.
