BOCA RATON – Saint John Paul (3-3) is looking to secure an upset victory at home against King’s Academy (4-1).

St. John Paul II (SJPII) has been consistently inconsistent and looking to find a middle ground for itself at the midpoint of this season.

The Eagles started off the season at 0-2, losing to Port St. Lucie and St. Andrews.

Since then, St. John Paul went on a two-game win streak that included a 48-0 domination of Somerset Academy Key on the road and a win over Pompano Beach at home.

St. John’s most recent victory came against Spanish River on the road, 28-16.

As one can see, the Eagles have the capability to win games and come together as a team to make things happen. They have proven it three times this year and they will be looking to possibly score a marquee victory tonight.

KING’S ACADEMY

The Lions come into this matchup red hot and on a three-game winning streak that includes victories over Somerset Academy Canyons, Glades Day, and North Broward Prep. King’s also has a marquee victory over No. 9 St. Andrews (4-1) that took place in Week 1.

Their only loss of the season came in Week 2 against Glades Central on the road, 14-7.

King’s junior Marion Victor will be a player to watch tonight as he can come out of the backfield carrying two and three defenders on his back. Troy commit Jackson Worley and quarterback Joe Dailey will be the guys to watch when the ball goes in the air for the Lions.

The defense has been very instrumental in the Lions success as they only allowed 55 points to be scored on them all season – 21 of those points were scored in Week 1.

Opponents have averaged only six point against them in their last three matchups.

Junior Nicholas Cueto will be a player to watch on defense for King’s Academy, as he led his squad in tackles. Meanwhile, senior defensive tackle Miguel Martinez leads the team in sacks.

The kickoff for this game will be tonight (Oct. 7; 6:30 p.m.) in Boca Raton.
