DELRAY BEACH – So far it has been been an offseason to remember for Dylan Rizk.
These past few days in particular have provided a huge boost for the American Heritage (Delray Beach) freshman quarterback. He’s making history along the way, and he’s just getting started.
For the first time, a freshman signal caller from Palm Beach County won
the Rivals Camp Series MVP honor and followed that up with an SEC offer.
This is attributed to a few things: quality training on and off the field, a sheer knack for paying attention to details, and Rizk’s ability to develop a quarterback acumen that will be hard to top for years to come.
“I feel blessed and it makes me want to work harder every single day,” the 6-foot-1, 180-pound quarterback said. “I really got to show how hard I have been working on the field.”
American Heritage assistant coach Henry Colombi is one of several individuals who have played an integral role in Rizk’s development. He raved about what the Stallions quarterback has accomplished with his Kentucky offer.
“[Coach] Eddie [Gran] has never offered a freshman quarterback at Kentucky before,” Colombi said of the Wildcats assistant head coach. “Especially one that never played a full game. He saw that Dylan’s fresh off a MVP performance at Rivals Camp, beating out an Auburn commit and four-star QB out of Georgia and beating out the best quarterbacks in South Florida.”
At this time, Rizk has also gained interest from the likes of Miami, Florida, Michigan, and Indiana. He’s also rated as the Class of 2023’s No. 2 pocket passer in the state and No. 11 pocket passer in the nation, according to the QB Hit List website (qbhitlist.com).
“He stands in tall in the pocket, showing good patience as he waits for his receivers breaks,” QB Hit List’s scouting report said. “He works within a spread formation offense, able to deliver quick hitters. He does a nice job moving in and around the pocket, creating open passing lanes.”
Rizk is currently playing for the South Florida Express 7-on-7 team in the offseason. We will catch up with the well-regarded organization on Rizk’s progress over the next few weeks ahead.
