Last night (January 9), Carson Beck pulled his name from the 2025 NFL Draft, and entered his name in the Transfer Portal with a “No Contact Clause” for his final year of eligibility. He committed to the ‘Canes on what’s being projected as a 1-year, $4Million deal.
The Fox affiliate in Miami reports that UM's contract with Carson Beck is a one year, $4 M deal. As perspective, former second round pick Will Levis made $950,000 base as Tennessee Titans starting QB this season.

In 2024, Beck threw for 3,485 yards and 28 passing scores, leading the Georgia Bulldogs to another SEC title and a first round bye in the 12-Team College Football Playoff.
During Georgia’s SEC Championship victory over Texas, right before halftime, Carson Beck tore his right UCL, ending his season. He did NOT have to undergo Tommy John Surgery, which rapidly increases his recovery time.
As for Miami, the ‘Canes secured the best available player currently in the transfer portal. Miami desperately needed a Quarterback, following the departure of Cam Ward to the NFL. During the PopTart’s Bowl, it was clear current backup Emory Williams wouldn’t be able to lead a championship contending team. The addition of Beck allows Miami to develop Williams and true freshman QB Luke Nickel.
Beck’s commitment to Miami now propels Miami into the #9 Transfer Portal class across college football, per the 24/7 Sports composite.
