Have a day LaJohntay Wester!
Last night, former Florida Atlantic/Colorado WR LaJohntay Wester made his NFL Debut with the Baltimore Ravens and he most certainly did not disappoint. Midway through the first quarter, Wester lined up at punt returner for the Birds and turned a probable loss into a 17 yard gain.
While this return was quite incredible, LaJohntay knew it was time to turn on the jets. Just over two minutes remaining in the quarter the Colts had yet another offensive drive stall out and brought the specialists back out. That’s when they made the terrible decision to kick it to LaJohntay Wester for the second time of the evening.
Wester fields the punt backed up at his own 13, bounces left, makes a couple men miss, shoots through a gap, cuts back to the right sideline and is GONE. 87 yards to the promised land for the first return touchdown of the new NFL season.

That wasn’t it for the 6th round pick from Palmetto, FL. (Orlando). Later in the game, Wester lined up at wideout and made his mark offensively. LaJohntay would be targeted three times, and come down with two grabs for 41 yards (30 longest). As the seconds ticked away, the Baltimore Ravens emerged victorious over the Indianapolis Colts 24-16. LaJohntay Wester’s final stat line consisted of:
3 targets (led team)
2 receptions (led team)
41 receiving yards (led team)
104 return yards (led team)
145 total yards (led team)
1 TD (T-1st on team)
For years we’ve known LaJohntay Wester was one of the most dangerous returners in college football. While at FAU and Colorado, Wester recorded 740 punt return yards and 2 touchdowns. During his five year collegiate career, LaJohntay also solidified himself as one of the top pass catchers in the game, with the ability to win outside and in the slot. Wester recorded 326 career grabs for 3,634 yards and 33 scores.
During his 2023 breakout campaign at Florida Atlantic, LaJohntay Wester recorded 108 grabs (2 CFB) for 1,168 yards (14 CFB) and 8 scores.

The future isn’t promised for most 6th round rookies, but for LaJohntay Wester, he most certainly showed the world exactly why he belongs in this League.
