PALM BEACH COUNTY – Travis Homer and Devin Singletary will get a chance to represent themselves and their area on the big stage later this month.

Homer and Singletary – who had stellar collegiate careers for Miami (Fla.) and FAU, respectively – have been chosen to participate in this year’s NFL Combine. The week-long showcase for potential NFL draftees will be held from Feb. 26 to March 4 at Lucas Oil Stadium In Indianapolis.

It’s been a great few days for Homer in particular, as he hosted a successfully operated meet-and-greet for Miami fans at Caneswear in Davie (Fla.) on Feb. 2. It only appears to get even greater from here for the 2018 ACC Second Team and All-Academic selection, who finished his stellar collegiate career at Miami with 1,995 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns (2,400 total yards, 13 total touchdowns).

As for Singletary, he leaves FAU as the school’s all-time leading rusher in both yards and touchdowns scored, with 4,289 rushing yards and 66 touchdowns (4,686 total yards, 67 total touchdowns). Motor was selected by the Sporting News as a All-American Second Team running back this past season, which is perhaps one of his biggest honors to date.

Homer (Oxbridge Academy alum) and Singletary (Delray Beach American Heritage alum) were two of 28 running backs who were selected to participate in the NFL Combine. Other running back picks include the likes of Darrell Henderson (Memphis), Elijah Holyfield (Georgia), Josh Jacobs (Alabama), Bryce Love (Stanford), Jordan Scarlett (Florida) and Benny Snell (Kentucky).

As for the rest of our area standouts who will be in the NFL Combine, they consist of the following players with their career stats and accomplishments:

LB Te’Von Coney (Notre Dame/Palm Beach Gardens alum): 313 tackles (23 TFL), 7 sacks, 4 pass deflections, 1 interception, 2 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery

WR Johnnie Dixon (Ohio State/Dwyer alum): 1,146 receiving yards, 16 touchdowns

WR Jamarius Way (South Alabama/Glades Central alum): 1,617 receiving yards, 11 touchdowns

OL Fred Johnson (Florida/Royal Palm Beach alum): Helped anchor offensive line to breakout season in 2018, which resulted in just 18 sacks allowed

A total of 338 players were selected for this year’s NFL Combine.

We will be following our six local NFL Combine selections closely over the next several weeks ahead, from now until the NFL Draft in late April.
