MIAMI GARDENS- After a long off-season of waiting, Miami Dolphins football is officially back.

Today, the Dolphins hosted their first open training camp practice. The ‘Fins faithful showed out today, filling the stands. As the practice was beginning, the crowed was greeted and hyped up by 2023 Hall of Fame inductee, Zach Thomas.

The tradition of awarding the orange jersey to the previous practice’s hardest worker has continued into this season. Today’s recipient was defensive back, Kader Kohu.

During the middle of practice, the team participated in an offense vs defense scrimmage.

The highlight of this scrimmage came early on, when Tua Tagovailoa connected with a wide open Tyreek Hill for a 75 yard touchdown.

Other offensive headlines include:

30 yard connection between Mike White and Jaylen Waddle

numerous Raheem Mostert and Salvon Ahmed rushes

10 yard Tua Tagovailoa rushing touchdown

10 yard touchdown pass from Tua Tagovailoa to Cedric Wilson Jr. to end today’s practice

Defensively, the biggest play of the day came when Jaelan Philips deflected a Tua pass directly into the ground. After the play, Philips gave the crowd a wave and took a bow.

Other defensive storylines include:

Eli Apple’s debut practice in Miami

Bradley Chubb and Christian Wilkins continue to be a problem for offensive linemen

Rookie defensive back Cam Smith continues to shine this off-season

Brandon Jones continues to show improvement after his season ending ACL tear

It’s safe to say that today was a very productive day for the Dolphins. I’m very excited to continue to cover this team throughout the remainder of Training Camp!
