MIAMI GARDENS- Day three of our coverage of Miami Dolphins training camp is officially in the books!
As practice began, it was revealed that safety Jevon Holland was donning the orange jersey today. As tradition, Holland’s playlist was played throughout the training session. His music taste has been by far the best played so far.
During the early stages of practice, I noticed that offensive lineman Terron Armstead (hip) was now a full participant. Armstead was seen dressed in full pads participating in positional drills, as well as light reps against the defensive line.
Throughout the special teams portion of practice, return-men Cedric Wilson Jr., Braxton Berrios and Jaylen Waddle all showed off their elite speed and quickness. This trio of returners is going to make special teams coordinators lose sleep this season.

I believe the linebacker core was today’s winners. Jerome Baker, Duke Riley, Andrew Van Ginkel and David Long Jr. all put on a show today. These four players showed off their speed, agility, coverage skills, and tackling abilities during positional drills as well as during the team scrimmage.

Another position group that’s continued to shine is the running backs. Throughout the positional drills, Raheem Mostert, Jeff Wilson Jr., Salvon Ahmed and rookie Devon Achane were receiving heavy praise from the coaches. The drills they performed today were centered around securing the ball during contact.

During team scrimmage, quarterbacks Tua Tagovailoa and Mike White split first team reps. Both quarter backs completed passes to Tyreek Hill for big gains on their opening play. The offense made sure to get other recieving weapons like Jaylen Waddle and Braxton Berrios involved as well.
Defensively, the secondary looked very strong, even with the loss of Jalen Ramsey (knee) last week. Cornerback Xavien Howard has been quietly locking down any receiver that lines up against him.

Rookie cornerback Cam Smith keeps shining on this Dolphins defense. Smith’s highlight of the day was a diving interception on a pass intended for Cedric Wilson Jr.

Jevon Holland also made another elite play today, easily breaking up a pass intended for Berrios. Tua perfectly placed that ball into Braxton Berrios’ hands. If Jevon Holland didn’t get his hands up in time, that was an easy 6 for the offense.

Unfortunately, today’s practice was cut short due to inclement weather. Despite the storm, today was a very positive day for the ‘Fins.
