Relationships mean everything for WR Jordan Cash

DELRAY BEACH – Jordan Cash has had a high school football career to remember in more ways than one.

The Atlantic senior wide receiver and Palm Beach County All-Star Game MVP has experienced the highest of highs (state title at Chaminade-Madonna in his junior season) and the lowest of lows (Oxbridge Academy shutting down after his sophomore season; up-and-down college recruiting process). But there’s one constant that stood out and will surely stand the test of time.

Cash is huge on real relationships, and it doesn’t matter what the situation is. The practice of loyalty can overcome anything, and Keiser head coach Doug Socha could be the biggest beneficiary of Cash’s life mantra.

It was Socha who inspired Cash to play for him when he was the head coach at Oxbridge Academy several years ago. It was Socha who also inspired Cash to play college football for him as Keiser’s head coach.

This is one major reason why Cash chose Keiser over St. Thomas as his college destination on Wednesday (Jan. 29).

“I chose Keiser because of the connection I have with the coaches,” Cash said. “They really feel like family too. Not only that, Coach Socha knew me ever since I was 10. Coach Socha is a great guy. He’s always about work and he pushes his players to the best of their abilities. Like he told me once, ‘It’s all about your work ethic.’”

Cash had more to say about Keiser.

“With the winning culture and mentality they have, playing fast is just for me,” Cash said.

To be frank, the only two offers Cash had that were committable turned out to be Keiser and St. Thomas, according to him. There were other offers earlier in Cash’s high school days (Kentucky, FIU, FAU, Bowling Green, Alabama State, and Stetson), but he wasn’t able to sign with any of them if he even wanted to.

Cash learned along the way that only official offers matter. And he’s happy that the college recruiting process is officially over.

“It’s feels great to be honest,” the 5-foot-9, 165-pound wide receiver said. “I’m just glad I can now further my education and play the sport I love.”
