WEST PALM BEACH, FLA. – Every year the biggest rising stars from Florida make headlines in the college sports world, however, Jordan Faison was able to make his name heard across two sports with Notre Dame.
Graduating from Pine Crest in 2023, Faison was a two-star football athlete on Rivals and a four-star lacrosse recruit, with a top 50 overall recruit ranking according to Inside Lacrosse and NLFRankings. In football he received All-District Honors as Quarterback and Safety along with the Florida Athletic Coaches Association District 21 Player of the Year. Meanwhile for lacrosse, he was a three-time All American, three time team captain, and a member of Long Island 91, one of the most dominant travel lacrosse clubs in the country.
Faison first took the country by storm in the fall during football season. After successfully walking on to the team, his first career game was against Louisville where he would score his first career touchdown, he would earn his first career start against USC the week after.
In total he would play seven games for the Irish and finish second on the team in reception touchdowns.
However, Faison’s big break in football would be at the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl against Oregon State. In this game, Faison would post his first career 100 yard game and grab a touchdown in the teams victory. This effort would land him the bowl game MVP honors.
Heading into lacrosse season, Faison would mark himself as one of the key players in a dominant Notre Dame squad which was headlined by the Kavanagh brothers along with Liam Entenmann, the premier goalie in the entire nation.
His debut for the Fighting Irish would put the country on notice, as Notre Dame dismantled Cleveland State 25-3 on opening day, Faison would rack up a hat-trick in his first ever college lacrosse game, things only trended upward from there.
Through his first four games, Faison would be responsible for giving the Fighting Irish 12 points, showing that he could not only find the goal but also create chances and opportunities for his teammates to cash in and score as well. At the end of the season, Faison would finish with 30 points, 22 of those being goals as he finished top five in both categories for the team.
Faison’s freshman year at Notre Dame is definitely a wild one to remember for most athletes in recent memory, from being a walk-on for the football team to being the Sun Bowl MVP at the end of the season, and then immediately creating an impact on the lacrosse field and winning a National Championship shows that the journey may be long but in the end it is worth it.
Of course the big headline for Notre Dame this year was the Kavanagh brothers, but with the duo now being split up next year, it is now time to make way for a new set of brothers to be the talk on the team. Yes, Jordan will be joined in the Fall of 2026 by his younger brother Dylan Faison, who happens to be the Number 1 overall recruit in the Class of 2026 for Lacrosse and a three star Wide Receiver for St. Andrews.
Things look incredibly promising for Faison after a remarkable freshman year, if he keeps this up there is no doubt that he will indeed be the next big name in the pros whether it be Lacrosse or Football to come out of the state of Florida.
