Max Redmon has been a consistent name throughout Palm Beach County this past year. This past offseason he has gained 14+ D1 offers, including schools like FSU, Kentucky, and Louisville. A 6-foot-3, 190 pounds ATH Redmon consistently shows his power on both sides of the ball.

With 63 total tackles and 5.1 tackles as a sophomore Redmon led the Cardinal Newman Defense to their 11-1 season last year. Redmon’s best individual game from last season came in Week 7 against Glades Central. He scored two touchdowns in his team’s 45-0 win, one each on offense and defense. Asking about his sophomore year, Redmon said this, “It went well, I felt like I could’ve done a lot of things better, but I can’t go back in the past. So, this year, I’m going to just focus on getting better at attacking the ball.”

Redmon has been working hard this off-season he attended a series of camps and 7-on-7 tournaments this summer, including the FAU/FSU Mega Camp at FAU where he received his offer from FSU. He was consistent at this camp, “I didn’t miss a beat in the drills,” Redmon said. “They had us do 1-on-1’s. I went 2-1.” Redmon also attended the USF 7-on-7 Tournament and received a USF offer at this event. “At USF I was going both ways,” Redmon said. “I had countless receptions and about seven touchdowns with two interceptions on defense.” He also attended the Keiser 7-on-7 and played with Florida Fire in some tournaments.

He also attended the Overtime 7 (OT7) Championship in Los Angles, California with his high school teammate Nae’shaun Montgomery on the Raw Miami team. Raw ended up making it to the Finals before losing to LoPro in the championship.

His attendance at camps and 7-on-7 tournaments have not been the only achievements he made this off-season. A few weeks ago, he was named a 3-star prospect by 247 sports.

Redmon on his recruiting list has one school that he is currently showing a lot of interest in and that is FSU. On June 5th, 2023 he received the offer. About 2 months later he took a visit to Tallahassee, with his fellow teammate FSU commit Ricky Knight. “The visit was amazing,” Redmon said. “FSU has a great campus and a great football facility/stadium. I really like the environment and the coaching staff. They’re very welcoming and the energy that they bring is amazing.” Of course, he has not made any final decisions yet and isn’t planning on to until after his junior year in the spring.

Redmon is excited about this up-and-coming season. With a few tough battles this year, the teams he is most excited to play against is “Catholic Memorial, Atlantic, Miami Northwestern, and definitely Palm Beach Central”. “I think we have a really good thing going with our program, and I am excited to see how much we are going to show the county what we are made of in these games,” Redmon said. “People will wake up soon”.

Cardinal Newman will kick off their preseason this Friday against Park Vista at 7 pm, home. Stay tuned.
