BOCA RATON- The inaugural New Era Prep “Game of the Week” exceeded all expectations. Tonight’s Top 10 matchup between #7 Saint Andrews and #8 West Boca was a nail biter throughout the game. Upon arriving to West Boca, you could tell by the pre-game atmosphere that both teams were ready for war.
Throughout the first three quarters, the score remained 0-0, despite strong offensive drives from both teams.
West Boca running back, Javian Mallory (’26), was doing everything in his power to bring the Bulls into the promised land. Mallory even took direct snaps out of the Wildcat formation numerous times during tonight’s contest. However, the underrated Scots’ defense showed strength and fortitude all night, stopping Mallory from breaking off big gains.
Offensively for the Scots’, wide receiver Teddy Hoffman (’25) and running back Jackson Parke (’24) set up big drives. Quarterback Dylan Mayers (’24) showed off his impressive arm strength, as well as his rushing ability all night. West Boca defensive end Xavier Reed (’26) was giving the Saint Andrew’s line trouble all night, providing much needed pressure on Mayers.
During the fourth quarter, things started to get spicy. West Boca continued to drive down the field, with a drive that ultimately ended in a 3 yard rushing touchdown from Javian Mallory with 7:20 remaining. Saint Andrews stayed calm under the pressure, methodically marching down the field with a drive that ended with a 10 yard touchdown pass from Dylan Mayers to Dylan Faison (’26) with 2:27 remaining in the game.
West Boca struck back, as quarterback Mason Mallory (’26) found receiver Brandon Hoch (’25) on a big 27 yard completion to start the drive. As the Bulls continue to march, time winds down. With :07 remaining, Mason Mallory scrambles, and fires a bullet intended for Zacharias Walls (’26), which gets intercepted by Dylan Faison as time expires.
Going into overtime, the Scots’ have all of the momentum and the ball first. After a quick three play drive, Saint Andrews settles for a field goal, bringing the score to 10-7.
West Boca’s drive starts off hot as Javian Mallory pounds the rock for three plays, being stuffed at the one yard line. The Bulls elect to go for it on fourth down, direct snapping the ball to Mallory again. Mallory rushes to the line of scrimmage, only to be met by a swarm of Saint Andrews defenders.
As Mallory gets brought down, the Saint Andrews sideline erupts. Saint Andrews (3-0) defeats West Boca (2-1) 10-7 in an overtime nail-biter.
