Score Predictions for Week 2: Palm Beach County High School Football

PALM BEACH COUNTY – After Week 1 was met with mixed success for Palm Beach County, Week 2 arrives with a changed slate due to unforeseen circumstances.

Most teams scheduled will play, save for Cardinal Newman and Benjamin, who were set to face off against each other on Thursday (Sep. 17). Due to health concerns, the game was postponed until further notice.

American Heritage-Delray will also not play its scheduled game against Calvary Christian. The game, previously set for Sep. 17, was cancelled following the death of American Heritage head coach Brian Sheridan.

With that said, here are the Week 2 games slated for tonight (Sep. 18):

•Fort Lauderdale-Westminster Academy (0-1) vs. Boca Raton Christian (0-0) – 7:00 p.m. kickoff

Boca Raton Christian will open up its season with a familiar opponent in Westminster Academy. Last season, the two teams met up in a regular season appearance, with Westminster Academy coming out with a dominating 44-0 victory.

Last season, Westminster Academy finished with a 9-2 record, falling in the FHSAA 2A regional semifinals. And this past week, Westminster Academy opened up its season with a 26-6 loss to Miami Dade Christian.

Last season, Boca Raton Christian finished with a 5-5 record.

Score Prediction: 34-18 win for Westminster Academy

•Berean Christian (0-1) vs. St. John Paul II (0-0) – 7:00 p.m. kickoff

Berean Christian faces a tough situation this season that was ultimately out of its control.

The Bulldogs play all of their games this season on the road, which started with last week’s 31-18 season-opening loss to Jupiter Christian.

This week, Berean Christian will travel to St. John Paul II, who will open up its season.

After going 4-5 last year, Eagles head coach Kelcey Brooks and his staff will look to pick up an early win and continue their momentum into an improved 2020 campaign.

Score Prediction: 21-17 win for Berean Christian

•Glades Day (0-0) vs. King’s Academy (1-0) – 7:00 p.m. kickoff

After finishing 2-7 in 2019, Glades Day will open up its 2020 slate with a game against King’s Academy.

The Gators have had to deal with a setback along the way. A day after having practice on Aug. 24, they were forced to shut down their operations until Sep. 8 due to health concerns.

To be honest, it is a win for Glades Day to get back up and running as a program.

Meanwhile, King’s Academy is a tough and well-coached team. Evidence of this came with a great all-around performance in Week 1, which resulted in a 33-27 win over Lemon Bay.

Last season, the Lions pulled off a 42-7 victory over the Gators. A similar result tonight would not be a surprise in any way.

Score Prediction: 35-10 win for King’s Academy
