Selection Sunday: Syracuse and USF face off in the Boca Bowl

BOCA RATON- Happy Selection Sunday sports fans!

The NCAA football committee has just announced all Bowl Game matchups slated for the middle-to-end of the month. During these selections, Syracuse and the University of South Florida have been announced to play in the RoofClaim.com Boca Raton Bowl. This year marks the tenth matchup of the Boca Bowl, since its inaugural contest in the 2014-15 Bowl Season.

The USF Bulls finished the season 6-6, with notable wins over AAC Rivals: Navy, Rice and Temple. The Bulls offense finished with 3,248 passing yards on the season (6th AAC) and 2,216 rushing yards on the season (3 AAC), proving to be one of the more dynamic corps in the conference.

The Syracuse Orange also finished the season 6-6, with notable wins over Purdue, Pitt and Wake Forest. The Orange offense was headlined by a lethal ground game, that recorded 2,220 rushing yards (5 ACC) during the season.

Recently, Syracuse has hired former Georgia DB Coach, Fran Brown, as their newest Head Coach. This will be Brown’s first game holding the reins for the Orange.

This year’s Roofclaim.Com Boca Raton Bowl will be held on Thursday, December 21 at Florida Atlantic University. Kickoff is slated for 8 P.M. EST.
