Wellington, FL.- It was a senior night to remember for the Palm Beach Central Broncos.
Tonight, the PBC Broncos defended home turf, downing the Santaluces Chiefs 26-7. From the jump it was pretty clear that it was all Central. The Broncos’ defense excelled tonight, stifling the explosive Chiefs’ offense to two plays of over 25+ yards and one score.
One of the major catalysts for tonight’s victory- Senior LB Joe Sykes. The 6 foot, uncommitted 2027 backer reminded everyone why he’s been heralded as one of the top MIKE’s in the area, recording 9 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 2 pass breakups, a forced fumble and a fumble returned for a touchdown.
“Without my dominant defensive line, and everyone else on our defense, I wouldn’t have been able to do that tonight. It’s not a ME effort, it’s a WE effort, and them guys helped me make those plays tonight for sure…I want to shoutout my defense, best defense in the County”

As previously stated, Santaluces boasts one of the most feared rushing attacks in the State, as Kentucky committed RB Kelsey Gerald can flip a game on it’s head after just a few steps. One way Palm Beach Central’s defense silenced the explosives- interior defensive line dominance. 4-Star Texas commit IDL Tyler Alexander put every ounce of elite traits on display this evening, stonewalling the interior with 4 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 5 hurries and a swat. Alexander is a top recruit in the country for a reason, with his game wrecking abilities being second to none. Tonight was the build board reason for that.
“It feels great, especially being able to shut down the RB we did today. Last year, he had 300 yards on us. This year, holding him under 50, it feels great.”
Offensively, the Broncos’ found dominance on the ground. Senior tailbacks Tyson Reynolds-El and Jamarlo Rawls, alongside junior Donnie Yocum IV all penned in impressive nights from scrimmage. PBC’s three headed backfield was only strengthened by the dual threat prowess of sophomore QB Isaiah Hamilton, who made some nice throws, while scampering for a touchdown on the evening.

Palm Beach Central’s biggest MVP’s of the night came from the specialist rooms. Senior Kicker Alejandro Cardona sent two 40+ yard boots right down the pipes. Cardona supplemented his field goal mastery with two successful onside kicks. Palm Beach Central also blocked a field goal, rounding out the three phase victory.

You might be thinking dear reader “Christian, you’ve forgotten the final touchdown.” I want to assure you I’d never forget this glorious play. It’s always a beautiful evening under the Friday Night Lights when you see a successfully executed big man touchdown. It’s an even better night when it’s via a broken play.
Palm Beach Central’s offense found themselves within the three, when one of their rushers leapt for the goal line score, but the ball was jarred loose. As the fumbled rock bounced across the endzone, senior offensive tackle ZaQuan Linton pounced onto the loose ball, securing the touchdown. The 6 foot 7 3-star Colorado committed tackle sent 290 pounds of pure seismic shaking force flying into the end zone.
After a brief conversation between the officiating crew, Linton’s score was upheld and Bronco stadium erupted in celebration of the Thick 6.
“That was amazing…I’m not gonna lie, I never thought I’d get in that box. My brothers were happy for me!….You know I had to hit that ‘Yeet Yeet’” Linton stated with a chuckle and a dance.
