Let us start with the college scholarship offers.

The 6-foot, 215-pound linebacker has earned four in total, which includes the following schools:

•West Virginia Wesleyan

•Denison

•Webber

•Florida Tech Prep

Silva spoke on his recruiting process.

“I’m open to anyone that is interested in me,” he said.

Silva is in this position right now primarily because of his junior season went at Park Vista. In 10 games, the linebacker posted these statistics:

•86 tackles

•11 tackles for loss

Silva’s best individual game was in Week 9 against Seminole Ridge. Here are his statistics from that one:

•15 tackles

•4 tackles for loss

•1 sack

Silva on his junior season at Park Vista:

“I feel like as a team at Park Vista, the season didn’t go our way,” Silva said. “We were rebuilding. But overall as a player, I feel like I definitely made strides and started to make a name for myself.”

Silva would go on to be selected as the team’s Defensive MVP for the 2022 season.

Fast forward to the spring football campaign. In the first half of his team’s 17-5 road win over Melbourne, Silva posted the following statistics:

•8 tackles

•3 tackles for loss

•1 forced interception

“I feel like my spring game showed a little preview of what’s going to happen in fall as a team and individually,” Silva said. “I had a couple of huge hits and definitely created momentum going into my offseason.”

The summer months were ones to remember for Silva. He attended three camps: Charlotte, Duke, and Elon.

Silva spoke specifically about his experience at Charlotte.

“I competed and got tons of reps and won against every guy in 1-on-1’s,” Silva said. “I gained the attention of their LB coach for this upcoming season and looking for an opportunity there.”

Silva on his final high school football offseason experience:

“My offseason has been on another level and that will show what separates me from others on Friday nights,” Silva said. “I have worked day and night on the field, weight room, and classroom building my knowledge of the game this offseason to make my dreams become reality.”

Now that we are inching closer to the 2023 regular season, Silva was happy to share his goals and aspirations for it.

“My individual goals this season is to get triple digit tackles, All-State, and leave my mark in the county,” Silva said. “My team goals are to lead my team deep into the playoffs and inspire the next generation of seniors to build our great program.”

Silva is quite happy about the leadership direction that new Cobras head coach Don Ferraro is taking his team in.

“This year is going to be a lot different,” Silva said. “We have a brand new coaching staff that is doing a great job. Coach Don has made a huge impact on our program and he’s going to lead us to playoffs. We had a very young team last year. This year, we’re senior dominant.”

Silva is excited about one game in particular.

“I’m looking forward to our Santaluces game at home,” Silva said of the Week 10 game on Friday, Oct. 27. “We’ve gone back and forth with them for years. We beat them last year and caused a huge upset for them going into playoffs.”

Silva has pushed himself to the limit in his preparation for the 2023 fall season. He did it in the weight room, in workouts, and in camps.

Let us see how this translates into a season to remember for both Silva and Park Vista. We at New Era Prep are looking forward to Silva’s shining moments both on and off the field.
