FLORHAM PARK, NJ. – Just a couple of days removed from their preseason victory against the Washington Commanders, the New York Jets were back at camp ready for their next showdown in Carolina against the Panthers. Here’s some takeaways to follow from todays practice.

Haason Reddick… Jet or No Jet?

Haasan Reddick’s move to New York was a shocker during the offseason, many Jets fans thought that this addition could be the missing piece to a potential playoff bound team, however, since his arrival it’s been nothing but trouble. Today was the first practice since Reddick announced he was holding out, but the Jets defense didn’t seem to be missing him or be in an apparent need for him. So is he doing himself a favor by holding out or the team a favor by not showing up?

Braelon Allen… Future Starting Running Back?

One of the big headlines for the Jets last season was losing star Running Back Breece Hall to an ACL Tear, with Hall cleared to play again, many thought he would be the clear cut starter heading into Week One. This actually may not be the case as the fourth round draft pick Braelon Allen took most of the First Team reps today in practice and performed well under the pressure of being with the starters as a rookie, this could be an interesting trend to follow as the preseason goes on.

Three Quarterbacks are a Crowd, but Five is a bit too Much

The Jets currently have five Quarterbacks on their preseason roster, With Aaron Rodgers as the confirmed starter heading into the regular season, Tyrod Taylor will most likely be the man in the QB2 spot, leaving us to wonder what will become of the three remaining QB’s.

Currently there are three guys competing for that coveted 3rd string spot, as of right now, the Jets currently have undrafted rookie Andrew Peasley from Wyoming and former UFL Champion Adrian Martinez sharing reps with the third team. However, the Jets still have their fifth round draft pick and Palm Beach County native, Jordan Travis currently in the mix, however Travis is still in the process of rehabbing his injury that ended his college career at FSU this past season and hasn’t taking any reps in pads just yet, making the competition even more interesting.

The Garrett Wilson – Aaron Rodgers Connection is Lethal

This needs no explanation, the duo connected for two deep touchdown passes today. If all of this translates over into the regular season, we could see probably the biggest offensive duo in the NFL this season.
