Delray Beach, FL.- Tonight, the American Heritage (Delray) Stallions flat out dominated the Somerset Academy (Pembroke) Panthers to open the 2026 regular season.

I’ll keep the game recap quick dear reader:

The Stallions’ offense stampeded through Bill Laurie Field in way of a 49-12 blowout. In a true display of complimentary football, Heritage’s offense recorded 6 different score punchers, including 3 first half passing TD’s and 4 second half rushing. American Heritage was led offensively by 2028 QB Marcus Stracke, who in his junior season debut, tossed for 315 yards and 3 scores. Pass catchers Johnathan Cesar, Ty Caldwell and Jonah Kasten hauled in the air mailed touchdowns, while Dennis Anderson, Charles Frederick and Zachary Schwartz (2x) delivered on the ground.

Defensively, American Heritage pitched a shutout second half, and recorded 2 fumble recoveries, a punt block and two onside kick conversions. In the second half, Somerset’s offense was completely smothered by the Stallions’ front and struggled to move the ball minus a few well timed kick returns.

To add onto the carnage, senior IOL/IDL Dom Swanson had himself a day in the trenches. The Army West Point Center commit recorded 3 pancakes offensively, alongside 2 tackles for loss and 2 PAT blocks on defense/special.

All in all- tonight was a true display of complimentary football from all phases of the game.

Following the win, it was all smiles from AHD HC Jonathan King, who had this to say about the win:

“I feel good after the victory….I mean in ecstatic at the work they put in tonight….Tonight, we had a phase where our O-Line, RB’s and TE’s completely took over for a quarter, and we just ran up and down the field.”

QB1 Stracke supplemented Coach’s remarks with his own opinions on tonight’s contest:

“We’re feeling good. We had some points still left on the board, like 12-14 of them and that would’ve got us to 60. We’re going to get back in the lab, fix that and come back stronger next week….It’s really a luxury to be able to spread the ball around. Everyone has the same mindset: Go score.”

When asked about the growth and leadership of Stracke on this offensive unit, Coach King had high praise for the 2028 signal caller:

“He’s mature, his decision making is better than you would expect, and it all comes back to his maturity…He leads us, our offense can only move as far as he takes us…”

Of course I had to catch up with the big man of the hour, Mr. Dom Swanson to grab his feelings on the win and area’s of improvement:

“You can’t feel bad after a win! We scored a lot of points and we’re trying to do it again next week…Tonight in the trenches though, we have to get rougher and tougher and stronger, I’m a perfectionist…”

American Heritage now improves to 1-0 on the season, as the Stallions prepare to face Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) on August 28. Kickoff is slated for 7:00 PM EST.
